HITLER ALLOTS TWO NIGHTS.

The- Bremen radio states that Hitler lias partially withdrawn the Da-n- on dancing, which has been enforced since May. Dhncing is now ..permissible in public places on "Wednesday and Saturday nights. GERMAN TALK OF REPRISALS. DUTCH EAST INDIES COMMENT. BANDOENG, July 23. The “Java Press,” commenting on what the Germans term .reprisals, points out that the measures have a single goal—politically to bring pressure to bear on parts of the Netherlands Empire which cannot be reached bv the war machine. “The metans the Germans are using to intimidate' the population of the Netherlands East Indies,” it says, “prove again that the German .authorities are incapable- of foreseeing the effect on -our freedom-loving nation. It will strengthen the decision to resist. Nobody outside Germany believes that interned Gormans are being: illtreated. Civilised nations do not fight defenceless civilians as the Germans do,”
