German fighters also sank 17,000 tons of merchant shipping in a-convoy comprising five merchantmen, this morning, and also set fire to a. merchantman. “Enemy ’planes last night bom hied various places in northern apd western Germany but did not cause much damage. Three- enemy ’planes were shot down. One German ’plane is missing.”
