ELECTRIC FENCING.
THE QUESTION OF IMPORTATION.

In the House of Representatives this afternoon Mr W. J. Broadfoot (National, Waitomo) in an urgent question to the Minister of Customs, asked :f lie would see that permits were issued to allow 14 gauge two-strand barbed wire to be imported to enable adequate supplies for electric fencing to be available for the farming community. - Tho Hon. W. .Nash, replying, said barbed wire was manufactured locally, but when supplies were inadequate the necessary permission wasi granted for its importation if it- were available overseas. Tho question of electric fencing was under consideration, and if it proved practicable and satisfactory, farmers would receive all the assistance possible in this direction.
