THEFT OF MONEY.

YOUNG MAN COMMITTED. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Juno 12. The theft of £230 in notes from a room mate was admitted by Francis William George Reeves, aged 21, a labourer, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., who committed him to the Supreme Court for sentence. Tire notes were the property of Jack Edward Ward, an Island Bay grocer, who went to bed, putting his trousers under his pillow. They contained a roll of £l3o in notes and another roll of £IOO. When he woke in the morning, his trousers were gone. He found them on a fence near the house, with £l3O still in them and £IOO gone. A police statement included the accused’s admission that ho took the trousers, removed one roll and left the other. He spent £7 10s .The rest had been recovered.
