SUPPER ON THE PATH.

AN ASHBURTON INNOVATION. ' FOR PATRIOTIC PURPOSES. Supper will be served on. a footpath in ono of the business area streets of Ashburton for the first time to-morrow night, when a series of side-shows will he conducted by Ashburton Entertainments for patriotic funds. Mr C. Davidson has donated the whole of his stocks of food from his pie cart in Moore Street for Ashburton Entertainments’ funds and besides supper being served in the pie cart, it will be served on the footpath nearby in a specially-arranged section surrounded by tarpaulins. On the opposite side of the street stalls will be conducted and the Ashburton Silver Band will be in attendance. Loud speakers will also be employed to liven the proceedings by which it is hoped to raise a rbuhd sum for 1 patriotic purposes.
