THE ASHBURTON COMPETITIONS. THISTLE CONTINUE UNBEATEN. TTie Ashburton men’s hockey competitions were continued on Saturday.Results were: —< SENIOR GRADE. In an even interesting game Ashburton beat Baring Square by 2 goals to 1. 0. Moore and H. Stewart scored for Ashburton and N. Hopkins for the losers. Messrs A. C. Vincent and K. G. Fowke were referees. The leaders in the competition, Thistle, defeated Wakanui in an exciting match by 4 to 0. H. Harper, S. McElhfnney, K. Hepburn, and A. Barnett scored for the winners. Messrs K. G. Fowke and A. C. Vincent were the referees. I JUNIOR GRADE. Tho hitherto unbeaten Thistle team was defeated by Baring Square by 4 to 1. The game was a ragged one. R. Brunton (3) and B. Oliver scored for Square and R. Drummond for Thistle. Mr A. Barnett was the referee.
