WAIMAIRI BEATS RAKAIA. Playing against Rakaia, at Rialcaia, in. the Rugby League competitions, Waimairi gave a wonderful display, and although the win, 8 to 7, was narrow it was well deserved. The home team made! valiant efforts to score in the second spell, but the stiff defence of the Waimairi side proved a thorn in the Rakaia side. On the day Wlaimairi thoroughly deserved to win, the loose raking gushes of the forwards often finding a gap in the home, team’s defence.

For Waimairi, G, Kirk and J. Clark scored, Bouterey converting the latter’s try. For Rakaia, B. Barnard scored and Davison kicked two penalties.
