THE FUND IN ASHBURTON. TOTAL OP £1429 18s 3d IN HAND. Further contributions to the Ashburton section of the Sick, "Wounded and Distress Fuudi bring the total in hand to £1429 18s 3d. The latest acknowledgments are:—
TEACHERS’ INSTITUTE GRANT. A grant of £5 to the Governmentwar expenses account and a donation of a similar amount to the Ashburton section of (the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund ) were made by the MidCanterbury branch of the New Zealand Teachers’ Institute last evening.
BRIDGE AND MAH-JONG PARTY
About £2O was raised for the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund as a result of a bridge and mah-jong party held by the Cavendish Club last evening.
