The Wellington Racing Club was favoured with fine weather . for the opening of its autumn meeting to-day, and the, attendance was not much below that of Thompson Handicap days in recent years. There was a very small pool in the St. Leger Stakes, hutinvestments showed an. increase of £5334, the total being £54,524 10s (win £24,371 10s, place £30,153) compared with £49,190 10s. Concluding results:—

Thompson Handicap of £1000; second horse £3OO, and third horse £2OO from stake; one mile—s (4) Kathbella 8.4 (P. Atkins) 1, 6 (6) Orelio 7.8 (R. McTavish) 2, 14 (13) Globe Trotter 7.10 (C. Wilson) 3. Won by half a head; two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.39 J. Tinakori Hack Handicap, of £350; seven, furlongs—-2 (2) Minority 8.0 (W. Doyle) 1, 5 (4) Rehearsal 8.11 (McKenzie) 2, 3 (3) Millament 8.6 (Morris) 3. Won by a neck; four lengths between second and third. Time, 1.263. Railway Handicap, of £6OO- six furlongs—4 (4) Sir Crusoe 7.8 (Mudforcl) 1, 1 (1) Footloose 8.10 (iDulieu) 2, 3 (2) Density 7.5 (Spratt) 3. Won by a neck; a length separating second and third.
