THE ASHBURTON CLUB. Owing to the yvet Aveatlier on Saturday" the game arranged by the Ashburton Bowling Club with Rakaia had to be postponed. Good progress has been niadei Avith the club competitions and some really good and close games have been played.. The colts’ competition lias been completed. A. S. 'Gray has-come through this competition Avithoiit the loss ol a lifei and Avill bold the Christmas Clip for a year. The runners-up Avere H. Amos (Ist life) and J. W. Tinker (2nd life-.), jn the play-off for second place LI. Amos was successful. In the championship singles, each life, has now been reduced to four and and three players, C. GoAvans, W. Finn and A. P. Matthews still retain their tiro lives. Some very interesting games should lie witnessed in the next round. Games played during the week J'osultod ;—GoAvnns beat Coekroft, Milsom and Cameron., Finn beat Dickenson and Higgins, Mitchell heat Amos. Champion Pairs —This competition has now heor. reduced to four pairs in each life. GoAvans and Higgins (s) still have two lives. - Games played resulted : —Pulloeh and Milsom (s) beat Porter and Coekroft (s), Cowans and Higgins (s) beat Tnrbotton and Woods (s), Porter and Coekroft (s) beat Matthews and Dunn (s), and Cowans and Higgins (s) beat Finn and Cameron (s). The annual match Avith the Ashburton Club and M.S.A. has been arranged for Saturday Avhen both greens will be in use.
