COLLEGE BURNED.
SOME BOYS’ NARROW ESCAPES. BUTT,DINGS FIFTY YEARS OLD. (United Press Association— Copyright.) (Received This Dav. 9.0 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Fifty boys in residence at the Longerenong Agricultural College escaped when fire destroyed the college- buildings early yesterday morning. The fire swept with startling rapidity through wooden buildings that were erected 50 years ago. Some of the boys had narrow escapes. They lost all their clothes and personal belongings. The college was conducted by the state council of Agricultural Education. The damage is estimated at £20,000. For some time the. Government has been contemplating rebuilding.
