Sir, —With many others I have been watching your news columns for a report of the .prosecution and fining of a prominent local official for allowing his chimney to become alight. Seeing that we have not heard anything more of this matter since the brigade, turned out w,& arc almost led to the conclusion that some by-laws arc made for the ordinary individual and do not concern the high official or anyone belonging to the “upper ten” class.
