LANDING IN DISABLED ’PLANE. FOUR OTHERS USE PARACHUTES (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m ) LONDON, January 12 Four Royal Air Force officers from a British bomber which had developed engine trouble landed by parachute in the fields near Axipinster, Devon, last night. The pilot remained at Ins post and was able to bring his crippled plane to a safe landing at the base in Kent. Distress flares were dropped just before the men jumped, but the parachute descents were not observed n the darkness. All four men landed safely, widelv apart.—British Official W ii dess
