INTOXICATED IN CAR.

TEN DAYS’ IMPRISONMENT. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, December 4. A carpenter, William Arthur Roach, aged 23, was charged to-day- with being intoxicated in charge ot a car on Saturday night. Sub-Inspector Pender said the accused’s car was on the footpath with the headlights full on, and Roach was in the driver’s seat. “He told a constable that he had had a row with his young lady, with tho result that their engagement was broken off, and that he then went and got drunk,” said the Sub-Inspector. Roach was sentenced to 10 days’ imprisonment shid his licence was cancelled.
