EXPORTS DECREASE.
BUTTER FROM WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, November 22. A decrease in butter exported to British and foreign ports of 3397 tons, or 14.8 per cent., and a "decrease of cheese shipments of 9,3 per cent, for tho 12 months ended September 30, 1939, compared with the same period of 1937-38, was shown in a statement on the trade and shipping of the port of Wellington, presented to tho Wellington Harbour Board by the chairman (Mr M. A. Elliott), to-night. Wool shipments increased by 43,763 bales, or 18.2 per cent., and frozen meat by 6 per cent. The total shipping figures of the port (4,056,482 tons) had decreased by 116,113 tons, or .2:8 per cent, below last year’s record figure of 4,172,595 tons.
