THE WEATHER.
LIGHT RAINFALL TO-DAY. Some light showers of rain fell in Ashburton this morning, but conditions were mild again and the weather cleared later- At 9 o’clock two points had been registered at the Domain weather station. The maximum temperature yesterday was 70 degrees and the minimum last- night was 5*2.1 degrees. The barometer stood at 29.74 inches this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — t A shallow' depression lies over the southern portion of the Dominion, but pressure remains high in the north. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Moderate and -variable winds, chiefly from a northerly quarter. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with scattered light rain or drizzle. Temperatures mild. Seas, slight. • - •y ~
