Air G. A. Duncan, director of the expqrt division of the Marketing Department, has returned from England.

The Canterbury Education Board has accepted the resignations of Air W. P. AlcLauchlan from the Lynnford School, and Aliss AI. E. Gunn from the Lyndhurst School.

Service at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church to-morroAV will be conducted by the Rev. J. A. Thomson, of Invercargill, and the Rev. J. AI. Bates, of KuroAv, .delegates to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand.

Sergeant R. H. Manson, of the NeAV Zealand Permanent Staff, Wellington, is spending the Aveek-end Avith his parents at Lagmhor. He expects thereafter to be stationed at Christchurch.

Airs F. Curtis Avill represent MidCanterbury at a meeting of the .Dominion Council of Women’s Institutes at Wellington next Aveek. Mrs AI. A. Constable Avill also attend the meeting as A'oluntary organiser.

Air J. Shaw will leave this evening for Wellington, l \vhere he will be the Ashburton' Borough Council’s representative at the Canterbury Court at the Centennial Exhibition, under an arrangement Avhereby local bodies associated in the Court -will supply an officer-in-charge _ for periods of four days each. Air ShaAV will lie accompanied by Airs Shaw.

The Rev. Angus Atcßean (president of the Methodist Church of NeAV Zealand) will leave this evening for the North Island. He will bo absent from Ashburton for three Sundays. He will preach at the 100th anniversary of the LoAver Hutt Methodist Church to-mor-roAV evening, Avhen the lesson Avill be read by the Governor-General, Lord Galway, This service will be broadcast by 2YA. During next AA-eek, Mr Alcßean will visit several North Island centres and will open a neAA r Maori church at Aloturoa, NeAV Plymouth. On November 26 he will conduct the anniversary services of the New Plymouth Alethodist Church, and on December 2 lie will' open a new church at Porirua, Avhere he wfill preacji the following morning. In the eA'ening of that day he will preach at Alasterton.
