LABOUR AND PEACE.

GOVERNMENT CRITICISED. SPECIFIC STATEMENT DESIRED. LONDON, November 16. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr C. R. Attlee), speaking in the House of Commons, welcomed the references to the conversations with the Dominion Ministers, but regretted that no reference was made- to the discussion of peace aims with them. The world wanted to know more specifically for what we were fighting. The Government was not looking far enough ahead, neither was it planning for peace or war effort. A clearer statement of aims would have a great effect on the morale of the people on the home front.
