THE WEATHER.
BEAUTIFULLY FINE AND WARM. Warm, settled weather, with bright sunshine, prevailed in Ashburton today. There: was little wind and conditions were most pleasant. The maximum temperature yesterday Avas 63.1 degrees and the minimum last night was 41.1 degrees. The barometer stood at 29.93 inches this mqrning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— An extensi\'e anti-cyclone is advancing slowly on to the Dominion, the highest pressures being in the north. The. forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Light to moderate and variable winds Avith north-easterly and north-Avesterly predominating and freshening at times. Weather fair to fine, some light frosts to-night, otherwise mild inland and cool on the coast. Seas slight.
