POLES RETREATING.
GERMANS OCCUPY CRACOW. CAPTURE OF NINETY GUNS. NEW YORK, Seuptember 7. A communique from Beilin states that tlie Polish retreat along the entire frontier continues. Supported by the Air Force, the eastern army kept on the heels of the enemy, forcing engagements. Nowysacz was taken, the Dunajec River crossed, and Cracow occupied without fighting. Marshal Pilsudski’s tomb was accorded military honours. The Germans, after the capture of Kielce, are advancing through the western sector of Lysa and Gora. Further north they are nearing Tomaszow and Lodz. They are mopping up the scattered Corridor army north-west of Gruziaez. Ninety guns have been captured and two divisions and one cavalry brigade, one tank battalion and two rifle battalions were destroyed. The survivors escaped by swimming the River Vistula without their equipment. East of the Vistula the TorunStrasbourg highway was crossed, and bridges were thrown across - the Drewenz River. '

It is reported from Simla that offers of service have boon received, and that the Indian Government has requested the public to continue in their ordinary occupations to avoid the dislocation of industry.
