Reuter’s Brussels correspondent says that the German public are still ignorant of the operations on the Western Front. The German newspapers are filled with jubilant articles about the progress of tlie troops in Poland. Britain’s activity thus far is represented by a number of isolated actions, all of which, according to the German version, apparently violate international law. The French operations are not mentioned. The press is noticeably friendly to France. ACTIVITY ON ROTH SIDES. (Received This Day, 1.25 a.m.) LONDON, September 8. The Wool Controller has permitted dealings in wool and certain partlymanufactured goods, . He has fixed minimum prices, including tops, as follows: 64’s warp 2fi)d lb, 56’s super 21)d; Australian scoured clothing fleece, 70’s quality-22)d ; scoured super Merino clothing, G4’s qualify. 22)d; New Zealand, all 50-56 quality, scoured second pieces 13)d, slipe lambs 153 d, and greasy average lambs T2)d. BRITISH COMMUNIST PARTY. DISBANDMENT DENIED. LONDON, September 6. The Communist Party denies a report that it lias disbanded. It states that its work will continue in all circumstances to do everything in its power to help win the war against Fascist aggression.
