FIGHTING NOW GENERAL.
WHOLE LENGTH OF CORRIDOR BOMBS AT GDYNIA FALL INTO SEA. t (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) PARIS', September 1. The Official News Agency says that fighting is general almost the. whole length of the Corridor. The British United Press correspondent says that Germans occupied Danzig after Herr Foerster had invited Herr Hitler to send an army. Bombs aimed at Gdynia fell into the sea. Raids were made on Biala, Podska la and Cracow. While the Polish Ambassador in Paris was telephoning to Warsaw bombs were falling at almost the same time as he heard l Herr Hitler broadcasting that he would respect women and children. STRIKING AT CORRIDOR. FIGHTING STARTS AT DANZIG. (Received This ’Day, 8.30 a.m.) WARSAW, September 1. An official radio announcement stated that Germany was attacking towns in and near the Gorridor and in Upper Silesia, striking at the Corridor east from ID’xialdowo and west from 60 miles from Danzig. She also attacked the defences of Mlawa. Fighting has started in Danzig. There is no announcement of damage by bombs. Low clouds temporarily protected Warsaw.
