TENNIS.
THE ROKEBY CLUB. The twelfth annual meeting of the Rokeby Tennig Club was held in the Rokeby School when Mr R. Penney presided. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the late Mrs Barclay. ' r Phe election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr T. V. Wilkinson ; vice-presidents, Messrs J. C. Irwin, W. Crozier, J. F. Langley, It. B. Knight, R. H. Middlemiss; Club captain, Mr J. Crozier; deputy captain, Mr A. T. Ziegler; secretary, Mr It. D. Penney; treasurer, Mr W. Irwin; auditor, Mr W. A, McPhail; committee, the president ,captain, deputy captain,
secretary, treasurer. Misses A. Irwin and A. Magson, Messrs W. Honeywell and G. Gimson; ladder committee, captain, deputy captain and secretary; delegates, Messrs It. Penney and J. Oozier; trustees, Messrs R. Penney and J. Crazier. The opening date was fixed for September 30 and it was decided to hold a yankee tournament. A dance was .arranged for the evening. A working bee was arranged for September 16 and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
