THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION DECISIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE ■' \ . - I ' j . \ At a meeting of the executive of the Ashburton Men’s Hockey Competitions it was decided to close the senior competition on July 22, at the end of the present round. The president (Mr A. C. Vincent) presided. Advice was received that the North Otago Association would be unable to send a. team to Ashburton, on August 26, but September 2 was suggested as an alternative, and the fixture was accepted. / It was agreed to postpone the. match between Wakanui and Rolceby B on Saturday as a mark of respect to A. Anderson (a Wakanui player) in his bereavement.
A good number of referees intimated that they would sit the men s theory examinations on July 12, when ■'.r C. Bishop, (president of the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Associar tion) will be examiner.
The president was appointed to confer with the executive of the Women’s Hockey. Association, to arrange grounds for the men’s, five-a-sidei and boys’ six-a-sido tournaments, which will be held either on August 12, 19, or 26.
It was agreed: to defer the next meeting for three weeks.
