DONOVAN AND CLARKE DRAW.

GREYMOUTH, July 2,

Jack Donovan and Jim (“Dazzler”) Clarke, olio fall each, drew in a professional wrestling match last night. There was little solid wrestling from either man and the showmanship was of a disappointingly tame variety. In the third round, after dumping Clarke twice, Donovan got a fall from a body press. Clarke's turn came in the seventh round, when lie evened with a la if from a body press after a number of colourful representations of punishing elbow jolts.

McCREADY BEATS MARTINEZ.

AUCKLAND, July 2

Scientific wrestling was seen at the Tow'n Hall on Saturday evening, when Earl McCready, British Empire heavyweight champion, beat Ignacio Martinez, the Spanish-American, by one fall. This was obtained in the seventh round. Martinez attempted, a lift and slam, but missed, and : he in turn was lifted and liurlecl heavily to the mat, McCready then pinning his opponent with a body press.

BLOMFIELD BEATS BOESCH. .

NEW PLYMOUTH, July 2

Solid, spectacular wrestling was seen by almost a record crowd on Saturday night, when “Lofty” Blomfield heat Paul Boescli on points. Blomfield submitted to a rolling sliort-arm scissors in the third round, but equalised in the seventh with an octopus clamp that so weakened his opponent that lie was no match in the last round.
