PROPOSALS' IN AUSTRALIA. FAMILY BENEFITS PLANNED. >*%'.*. ’ I (United Press Association-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.25'a.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) stated that the decision to abandon the National Insurance Act and to substitute a new Act providing for family health insurance was made by the whole Cabinet. At Melbourne the Federal Treasurer (Mr R. G. Casey) announced tentative proposals ,for a new national health service. They nrovide for family medical service arid for sickness and disablements benefits. The scheme provides for contributions from employees and employers not to exceed ninepence a week. The Commonwealth subsidy will be £1,000,000 a year. .
