SWIMMING.
HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ SPORTS The High School girls’ annual swimming sports were held in excellent conditions yesterday. The senior championship was won by Diana Collins, the runner-up being Joyce Denley. Mary Marshall was successful in the junior championship, the second place being taken by Lyndsay Vincent. Results other than appeared in the “Guardian” yesterday were: — 25 yards Backstroke, junior handicap—M. Marshall 1, L. Vincent 2, D. Ferrier 3. Inter-Form Relay—sA (B. Vincent, B. Holland. B. Glass, J. Denley) 1, oD 2,3 A 3. - Inter-House Relay Tennant 1, Hogg 2, Buchanan 3. THE MAYFIELD CLUB.
The committee of the Mayfield Swimming Club met to make, arrangements for another swimming carnival, to be held in the Domain baths to-day. It was reported that Mr R. Iverr had given a cup, to be known as the Kerr Cup, to be competed for Iby schools in the Ashburton County next Tuesday. Already eight schools had signified their intention of taking part in the competition. Results of learners’ races will count, as points for the cup.
