FATAL COLLISION.

MAORI DIES FROM INJURIES. (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, This Day. As a result of severe head injuries received late yesterday evening, when a motor-cycle he was riding collided with a oar at Normanby, William Hunt, a Mjjori, died in Hawera Hospital this morning. The accident occurred close to the township. The car involved was driven by Wilfred Brett, accountant of the Bank of New Zealand at Kaponga. At the time of the accident it was raining heavily and visibility was stated to have been bad. An X-ray examination revealed that the handle of the door was completely buried in Hunt’s skull, entering the top of his head and travelling toward the left ear, thus causing laceration of the brain.
