ANNUAL MEETING AT RAKAIA.

The annual meeting of the Rakaia Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held in the church yesterday afternoon, when the Rev. li. G. Hanna presided over a good attendance. „ The election of officers resulted: Chairman, the Rev. I/. G. Hanna; president, Mis H. Hopwood; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames J. England and HC. Nelson; secretary, Aliss E. Saunders; treasurer, Mrs AY. Coatsworth; mission secretary. Airs G. Hight; delegate to quarterly church meeting, Airs \V. Coatsworth; organist, Airs O. Hight; visitors to sick. Airs AlcGeorge and Aliss Enid Saunders. The balance-sheet showed a good credit.

A social afternoon was held. A play, entitled “Number Seventeen,” was read by Afrs Coatsworth and Aliss Saunders, and a song was sung by the Rev. L. G. Hanna. Competitions were won by Airs C. Hight and Aliss E. Saunders.
