DAMAGES AWARDED.
GIRL TO RECEIVE £7OOO. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 24. Damages for the .full amount claimed, £7OOO, were awarded by a jury of 12 in the Supreme Court u> Marcia Donellan, aged 17, whose left leg was amputated after a collision between a tram and lorry in Wakefield Street on June 16. She was travelling in the tram and sued the Wellington Citv Corporation and the Westport Coal Co., Ltd., for £7OOO. The damages were awarded against the City Corporation. The case, whichfe*occupied four days, was presided over by the Chief Justice, the Rt. Hon. Sir Michael 'Myers, whose summing up today lasted for almost an hour and three-quarters.
