COLLIE DOG CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL YEAR AT MAYFIELD. The annual meeting of the Mayfield Collie Club was held recently. The president. (Mr J. Patterson) presided. The report stated that the club had experienced another successful year. Good entries had been received for the trials, and the quality of work was well up to the standard of previous years. The president spoke of the loss to the club in the death of Mr W. Glasson, who had always been a keen supporter. Messrs J. Morgan. A. N. Grigg, M.P. and C. J. Johnstone, sen., were elected honorary life members. It was decided that the boundaries of the club extend from the main range to the sea, and from Bowyer’s Stream to the Rangitata River, including the Ashburton Gorge. It was also agreed that maiden dogs must enter for the district sweep stakes, to he eligible for special prizes. It was also decided to have three sweepstakes in the open district, and maiden class. Mr W. F. Ross gave a cup for Class 3. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr A. N. Grigg, M.P.; president, Mr I). Mackintosh; vice-presi-dent. Mr C. J. Johnstone, jun.; treasurer, Mr J. H. Patterson; secretary, Mr A. H. Guinev ; committee, as last year, with the addition of Messrs J. D. Roberts and G. McMurchy.
