Xo doubloons oir pieces of 'eight have been found by Air .1. \Y. AY ray. owner of the well-known Auckland yacht. Ngataki. on tin* lonely 'island of Suwarrow, in the south-eastern Pacific, whither the vessel wen'll recently to test the story of hidden treasure. Advice received in Auckland states that the only riches • carried away from the island by the Xgataki •was a huge and odoriferous turtle shell. AA’hen the yacht left Auckland in August. Air Wray said that 'while lie did not place much credence in the tale of a fortune awaiting discovery on Suwarrow, he intended to investi--gate reports which had come to him. To this end the Xgataki carried a number of kauri gum spears and several old German bayonets with which to probe the sands whqrc the treasure was said to l he buripd. However, advice received to-day stated that the Xgataki arrived at Xiue Island on October 31 from Suwarrow, and that the crew had said no treasure had been found. AA'ith the exception of L. Baltewell, all tile members of the crew were well. Baklewell had suffered a severe rope
