ENTERTAINMENTS.

ST. JAMES THEATRE. The adage that "variety is the spice of life” applies to "Fight For A our Lady,” romantic screen comedy which makes its debut at the St. James Theatre this evening. The fun starts at the ringside of a wrestling match in London, England. John Boles, an American concert singer, attends the bout with Alargot Grahame, his golddigging fiancee. Gordon Jones enters the ring for a bout which his manager, Jack Oakie has bet he will lose. But Gordon sees the alluring Alargot place a wager on him, and proceeds to win, thereby bankrupting his manager. Oakie then teams up with Boles, prevents the latter’s marriage to Alargot by a ruse, and goes to Budapest with the singer. After that things move quickly and hilariously. In addition to the players mentioned, the cast includes Paul Guilfoyle, Billy Gilbert, Charles Judels, Maude Eburns and other screen favourites.

Universal’s "Air Devils,” also on the programme, is an exciting comedydrama of life and love on a South Seaisland. Thrills, laughs and breathtaking action are interspersed with scenes of romantic glamour. The film features Larry Blake, Dick Purcell, .Beryl AVallace and Alamo Clark, in the principal roles.
