EARLY RESUMPTION LIKELY. (Per Press Association.) * AUCKLAND, November 17. Proof of the intention of Pan-Ameri-can Airways to proceed Avith its plans for resuming the San Francisco-Auck-land air service Avith Boeing flyingboats early next year is the receipt by Mr Harold' Gatty, special representative of the company in New Zealand, of shipping notes announcing the sending to Auckland of a variety of neAv equipment, including spares for the Boeing machines. The goods ar expected to arrive shortly. Mr Gatty has also been advised by the company that Mr A. L. Lewis, Avho Avas airport manager for Pan-American Airways-in Auckland, and Avho is uoav stationed at Midway Island, the stopping place on tho China service, Avill return to Auckland to resume his former duties nQxt month. Air E. B. Buxton, one of tho company’s meteorologists, avlto Avas in Auckland earlier this year, is also to return shortly. Mr Buxton has been engaged for some time in flying between Guam and Manila, making a special study of air conditions on that section of the North Pacific service. —^ An early announcement of the date of tho resumption of the South Pacific service is expected by Mr Gatty. He said that the arrangements announced Avere unaltered, and were likely to remain so.
