CENTENARY FUND.

THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHES.

SUM OF £2103 12s COLLECTED IN ASHBURTON.

With the appeal not yet completed, the sum of £2163 12s has been received in cash and promises by the Ashburton Church toward the Centenary Thanksgiving Fund. An appeal is being made throughout New Zealand to raise £300,000 to discharge the debts on the Presbyterian Churches and to build, up the consolidated funds for general purposes for church work. The Rl?v. R. S. Watson announced the total amount collected in Ashburton to datoi at the St. Andrew s Church services yesterday. Under the general scheme, the Ashburton Presbyterian Church will clear its own debt of £750, which remains on the St. Andrew’s Sunday School and Hall. The balance will be added to tire general fund.
