Earl Stanhope has been appointed First Lord of the Admiralty, in succession to Mr A. Duff-Cooper, who recently resigned. Earl de la AVarr (Lord Privy Seal) has been appointed President of the Board of Education in succession to Lord Stanhope. It is understood that Mr Malcolm MacDonald will continuo to combine the portfolios of Secretary of State for the Colonies and Secretary of State for the Dominions. V JJ PRIVY COUNCIL MEETING. (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, October 27. The King hei % d a Privy Council at which Earl Stanhope kissed hands on his appointment as First Lord of the Admiralty, and an Order-in-Coun-eil was made that Earl iDe la AVarr he President of the Board of Education. Their Majesties later left for Sandringham.
