A hundred rebels attacked the Jewish quarters at Tiberias and perpetrated a house-to-house massacre, killing 21 Jews, including seven children. Four rebels were killed, and many on both sides were wounded in the subsequent fighting. The rebels made a surprise attack and shot a Jewish watchman, slaughtered men, women and children, and set fire to the synagogue and Government buildings. EXPLOSION OF A LAND MINE TEN ARABS DEAD, FOUR WOUNDED. (Received This Day, 11.15 a.m.) HAIFA, October 3. Ten Arabs were killed and four wounded when a land mine exploded at Jaffa. Over 100 Arabs have been killed in the last two days a.s the result of encounters with Government forces. FORTY ARABS KILLED. FIGHT WITH BRITISH FORCES. JERUSALEM, October 1. Forty Arabs were killed in an engagement with British police, troop 9 and aircraft at Ramallah. A British policeman was killed. JEW SENTENCED TO DEATH. CARRYING ARMS AND MUNITIONS (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) JERUSALEM, October 3. A military court sentenced to death Jacob Kotek, w of Telaviv, on a charge of carrying arms and ammunition. This is only the second time a Jew has been sentenced to death throughout the disturbances.
