M. DALADIER CONGRATULATED.
TRIBUTE BY THE PRESIDENT. PREMIER INCLUDES M. BONNET. * (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) PARIS, September 30. M. Daladier’s homecoming was comparable to Mr Chamberlain’s, and described as the most enthusiastic scene since the Armistice. After a Cabinet meeting, held immediately after M. Daladier’s return, a communique was issued. It stated: “President Lebrun, interpreting the feeling of the country, thanked M. Daladier for his enlightened vigilance, patriotism and civic courage with which he discharged a grave and delicate mission, brought to a happy conclusion. The Cabinet joined the President in congratulations to M. Daladier, who responded, asking that M. Bonnet lie included in the congratulations.”
After approving the Munich agreement, the-Cabinet decided to summon Parliament for Tuesday. Hectic scenes were witnessed on the Bourse. The floor was an impassable mass of shouting humanity. Prices, which jumped from 10 to 30 per cent, yesterday, moved up further.
