ASHBURTON DAIRY COMPANY. SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS CARRIED. SHAREHOLDER S ATTEND MEETING. An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Ashburton Co-operative Dairy Factory Company, Limited, was hold in Ashburton this afternoon, the business being the consideration of special resolutions made necessary as a result of the recent amalgamation of dairy companies in Mid-Canterbury and South Canterbury.
One of the chief subjects placed before the meeting was that of the proposal to change the name of the company to Midland Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited. The chairman of directors of the company (Mr S. P. Taylor) presided, and thdre was a fair attendance. Other resolutions placed before the meeting aimed at necessary changes in the memorandum of association setting out the status of shareholders and the effect of the sharing of .profits oil the number of shares held. New articles of the company were also submitted for confirmation. ' The meeting was not open to the newspapers.
