TOTAL STRENGTH NOVY 45,000. MOST MODERN EQUIPMENT. (Received This Day, 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, September 27. The anti-aircraft troops have been called np as a precautionary measure and five divisions have already taken up strategical positions at various parts of Britain. Following the recent recruiting campaign the anti-aircraft units have increased in numbers from 2600 to 45,000 and possess the most modern equipment. CONTROL OF AIR SERVICES. WORK FOR CIVIL AIRCRAFT. (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, September 27. “The Daily Telegraph” says: A‘ln the event of a European war the Government will take over the control of principal air services. Empire airmails will be carried on with modifications and re-arrangements, as circumstances dictate. At first they will probably be run as part of Air Force operations. The Air Force will probably take oven civil aerodromes. Plans are completed for guarding aerodromes and stores. Civil aircraft will probably be commandeered as hundreds would he useful for special services. The Air Ministry is receiving many offers of services, including personnel and aircraft.
