THE MINERS’ STRIKE.
SHIPS AND TRAINS CURTAILED. (United Press Association —Copyright ) SYDNEY, September 26. All eastern states shipping and railway services are gradually being curtailed. The largest inter-state steamers are tieing up one by one, the latest being the Canberra, which is in the Mel-bourne-Sydney-Cairns service. Restrictions on the transport of goods by rail will be imposed in New South Wales on October 4, the Railway Department aiming at conserving stocks for operating absolutely essential services.
