FLOWER SERVICES.
AT ASHBURTON CHURCHES. \ Flo Aver services were held at the St. Stephen’s Anglican and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Churches yesterday. At St. Stephen’s Church the Be-/. J. F. Eeron took as his thieme, the harmony of life as illustrated by the organ and the flowers. In the evening Mr Eeron used the individual parts of a flower to illustrate his address. He also dealt individualv with each stop of the church organ, using it to illustrate his theme in the final solo, “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” played by Mr J. C. Thompson. The children’s, flower seiwice Avas held in the morning, Avhen members of the Sunday schools attached to the church brought floral gifts, which were received by the teachers and placed round the church. The flowers given at the service Avill he distributed among the sick and aged of the church. At the sixth annual spring and fioAver service at St. AndreAv’s Presbyterian Church the Roa\ R. S. Watson gave an appropriate address. In the afternoon flowers were distributed to the sick and aged members of a tie church and to the hospitals by senior scholars of the SuncbiA' school.
