ENTERTAINMENTS.

THREE PLAYS PRESENTED. Three acceptable one-act plays were presented to a large audience at St. Stephen’s Hall last evening, and as a result the funds of the novelty ,stall to lie conducted in conjunction with the St.' Stephen’s fair next week should benefit to a considerable extent. The plays were very different in theme and provided first-class entertainment. The work of the casts was good throughout and the audience warmly applauded each production. Miss Renee Chamberlain was tlie producer and she was congratulated on the success of the evening. Apart- from this duty, Miss Chamberlain appeared in two of the plays. Incidental music was supplied by an orchestra led by Dr. N. E. H. Fulton and this added a good deal to the enjoyment of the programme. The stagemanagement- was in the hands of Messrs S. W. Gower and E. R. Easterbrook, and everything went without a hitch.

The plays were as follow: —‘‘A Minuet,” by Louis N. Parker; Marquis, Miss R. Chamlierlam; Marchioness, Miss E. Holland; gaoler, Mr L. A. Charles.
