Wynne and Coyne (Australia) beat Mrs Hopman and Miss Stevenson 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Men’s singles—J. S. Ollif beat E. J. Filby 2-6, 6-J, 6-3. Women’s singles—Mrs H. WillsMoody (IT.fe'.A.) beat Miss M. Lumb 6-3, 6-4. Men’s Doubles—H. G. Lee and P. V. Y. Sherwood beat C. E. Mal Loy and Kho Sin Ivie, 8-6, 7-5. Mixed Doubles—J. S. Olliff and M. s E. L. Miller beat Malfroy and Miss B. Nuthall 2-6, 6-4, 12-10. THE DAVIS CUP CONTEST. LONDON, May 21. In the Eturopean zone of the Davis Cup, second round games were played as follows: Yugoslavia v. Great Britain. At Zagreb, Mitie (Yugoslavia) beat D. W. Butler (Great Britain), 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. Puncec (Yugoslavia) was leading Shayes 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 3-2, when bad light stopped play. France v. Monaco. At Marseilles, Petra (France) beat A. Noghes (Monaco), 6-1, 6-1, 6-0; B. Destremeau beat G. Medecin, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1. Germany v. Norway. At Berlin, Germany eliminated Norway. Metaxa and H. Henkel beat Ilaanes « and Jensen, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3. Sweden v. Switzerland. At Stockholm, K. Schroder (Sweden) beat H. C. Fischer (Switzerland), 8-6, 6-2, 6-0. Maneff (Switzerland) beat Rholson, 6-1, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Schroder and Rholson beat Fischer and Maneff, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.
