PERSONAL.

Sister A. Jackman, of Ashburton, left New Zealand on Saturday on a visit to England. Mr J. B.'Meeting, who was foreman of works for the Ashburton County Council for more than four years, left Ashburton this morning to take up the position of overseer of main highways for North Canterbury. He was presented with a pipe and pouch by members of the Council’s works staff on Saturday morning. Mr A. Wallis made the presentation.
