LOSER’S HEAVY PUNISHMENT.

BEATEN IN LAST TWO ROUNDS

Braddock (United States) 14st gained a points decision over Tommy Farr (England) 14st 111 b, in a ten - round professional heavyweight bout at Madison Square Garden's. Joe Louis, the world heavyweight title-holder, was a spectator. In the first round both were cautious Uid sparred lightly. The final round saw Farr lead si left to the head, Braddock returning a hard right to the chin. They fought savagely in the centre of the ring, Farr ripping in rights and lefts to the body and Braddock a hard right to the face, a left to the jaw, an overhand smash to the head, and a right and left to the face. Braddock’s round. A partisan crowd of twenty thoucheered mostly Braddock, 'who' came back in the closing rounds when appeared he had lost, and fought Farr off his feet, inflicting heavy punishment.
