THE LINER PRESIDENT HOOVER

It is reported that the American Marine Insurance Syndicate paid 2,500,000 dollars in settlement of the total loss of the liner President Hoover which went aground on a reef off the island of Formosa on December 11. The Federal Inquiry Board has exonerated the crew of the liner from the intoxication charges preferred against 170 members of the crew.
