WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

THE HAMPSTEAD BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS The monthly meeting of the Hampstead Women’s Institute was held in the hall, when there was a fair attendance. In the absence of the president (Mrs M. Constable), Mrs Rose presided,.

Community singing was enjoyed with Mrs Pile, who also gave other musical items, at the piano. Two amusing competitions were won by Mesdames W. and S. Thompson and Mrs S. Preddy.

The monthly competitions, which were judged by Mrs Flatman and Miss Millicent Flatman (Christchurch), resulted : Spray: Mrs Rose 1, Mrs J. Ford 2, Mrs Harrison 3. Christmas cake: Mrs Harrison 1, Mrs Meade 2, Mrs Hunt, jun. and Mrs Reese (equal) 3. Hand-worked guest towel: Mrs Pike 1.

Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Thompson, Ewing and Pile.
