The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that in addition to the 30,000 Italian farm workers who will arrive under an eight months’ contract, more than 170,000 farm workers are coming from many countries, including Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Holland.
Dr. (Friedrich Syrup, president of the labour exchanges, in reply to many questionings why there Avas to be such an enormous influx, declared that because of the lack of farm Avorkers many more would liaA r e been . invited if exchange difficulties had not existed.
Already the Government must airauge for £6,000,000 to leave Germany as the amount of Avages the workers will take home.
