Mr J. E. Small bone,, of Ashburton, has passed the written section of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration examination.
Mr H. E. Herring, M.P., has been elected unopposed to a seat on the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, fepiesenting members of the Legislative Council resident in Canterbury, and Members of the House of Representatives for Canterburv Constituencies.
At the meeting of householders of Dromore and Fairton held at Fairton last evening, the chairman (Mr iP. J. Mowat) referred to the loss sustained by the school committee through the death of Mr J. McKay. Those present stood, in silence as a mark of respect. Mr H. M. Copland, of Dromore, was nominated to fill the vacancy on the committee.
